At the same time, the brewery in Belgium prepares a base beer for Fruity Monkey. It is a charming mix of wit (white), blonde and pilsner beers, brewed using the finest fresh hops. All brewing and fruit ingredients are 98% natural.
Once brewed, the brewers add the fruit blends to the base beer for a second period of fermentation. They add a small amount of extract too. And then the magic happens. All fermentation is natural. The full-bodied, brewery-fresh Belgian fruit beers are often ready sooner than expected.
Other than malt, anything adding fermentable sugar during brewing is an adjunct. Using fruit adjuncts is both popular and common for certain beer styles and flavours. Fruit’s natural sugar increases fermentation. This makes delicious fruit beers a little stronger, and it improves their nutritional value.
